Academic Background:
Adam Jones qualified from the Middlesex Hospital Medical School with its highest undergraduate award, the Broderip Scholarship.
His initial surgical training was at Whipps Cross then Chase Farm Hospital, followed by his Specialist Registrar rotation in Urology in the Oxford region. During this time Adam was awarded a prestigious one year Hunterian Professorship for his research into the blood supply to bladder cancers and disruption mechanisms.
He has a special interest in laparoscopic surgery for benign and malignant urology conditions as well as adding to the existing service for urological cancer.
Adam has had a major role in developing both robotic surgery in Reading and also fundraising for the capital purchase of Robbie the Robot. Roles which led to him being awarded "Healthcare worker of the year" in the Pride of Reading Awards 2012. He has also taught as a faculty member for ERUS (European Robotic Urology Symposium) training courses.
Adam Jones joined Reading Urology in 2003 after being appointed to the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust in 2002.
